Every billet over 120 mm diameter is UT-scanned before the first cut. Internal voids, laminations, and pipe defects that would never show on surface examination are caught and rejected at the material stage.
Each billet is XRF-scanned individually — not sampled by lot — to confirm grade composition. Grade substitution (304 passed off as 316) is a real-world risk that per-item PMI eliminates absolutely.
Post-machining solution anneal at 1,050–1,100 °C + water quench dissolves chromium carbides and restores maximum corrosion resistance through the full cross-section.
