Hub Styles Explained
Selecting the right hub style for your application is as important as choosing the correct tooth count. Understanding the ANSI hub type system prevents installation errors:
No hub projection. Used where axial space is tight or where the sprocket mounts directly to a flange or disc.
Hub projects to one side only. The most common general-purpose configuration — positions the chain centerline close to a bearing.
Hub projects both sides. Best for long-bore applications and shafts that require maximum engagement length for torque transfer.
