#100 Stainless Steel Sprocket | ANSI 100 Extra-Heavy SS Drive

Extra-heavy ANSI 100 stainless steel sprocket (1-1/4″ pitch) in 304 or 316 SS — built to replace Tsubaki, Dodge, and Rexnord #100 sprockets in the most demanding heavy industrial chain drives where corrosion and high torque coexist.

Description

Hangzhou Ever-Power Sprocket Co., Ltd.

ANSI 100 stainless steel sprockets — extra-heavy pitch for the highest torque industrial drives in corrosive environments.

Product Overview

When industrial drive requirements scale beyond what #80 chain can efficiently handle, the #100 Stainless Steel Sprocket steps in with a 31.75 mm (1-1/4 inch) pitch that accommodates the ANSI 100 roller chain family. At this pitch, individual chain links — and therefore individual tooth loads — are substantially larger, and the corresponding sprocket diameters are impressively robust pieces of precision machinery. Hangzhou Ever-Power produces these sprockets from heavy-section 304 or 316 stainless steel billet that first undergoes ultrasonic inspection to confirm freedom from internal voids before a single machining pass is taken. The resulting sprockets serve in the most demanding environments across heavy industry — steel mill scale-breaker chains, large-format printing press drives, continuous casting machine chains, and heavy offshore equipment — where no compromise between load capacity and environmental resistance is acceptable.

Material Quality at the #100 Scale

At the #100 pitch, each sprocket contains a significant volume of material — and any internal void or segregation zone that might be acceptable in a smaller part becomes a potential fatigue crack initiation site in a large, heavily loaded sprocket. Our procurement standard for #100 SS billet requires mill-certified chemical composition, mechanical properties, and positive-material identification (PMI) before stock acceptance. Ultrasonic testing is applied to all billet over 120 mm diameter to screen for laminations or pipe defects. Only clean-tested material progresses to the machine shop floor, giving our customers confidence that the inspection report attached to their order reflects the actual material inside each sprocket — not just the mill certificate for the heat.

Heat Treatment Options

Solution annealing (1,050–1,100 °C water quench) restores maximum corrosion resistance after machining by homogenising the stainless microstructure and eliminating sensitized zones near weld-heat-affected zones or after heavy cold work. For applications requiring higher surface hardness without sacrificing corrosion resistance, our selective induction hardening process raises tooth-face hardness to HRC 42–48 while the hub and disc remain in the softer, tougher annealed condition.

Customer Testimonials

★★★★★

“Ever-Power manufactured 24 custom #100 SS sprockets for our acid pickling line at 32T and 48T. All arrived with UT clearance certs and CMM reports. Dimensional accuracy was excellent — we verified every bore in-house.”

— Chief Engineer, Steel Mill, South Korea

★★★★★

“Used for a mooring chain tensioner on an offshore platform. Eighteen months in a seawater spray environment and the sprockets look brand new. Worth every penny of the 316 SS upgrade.”

— Marine Engineer, Offshore Services Company, Norway

★★★★☆

“Complex custom order with step-hub profile. Communications were clear throughout, drawings reviewed twice before machining. Delivered in 22 days — reasonable for bespoke large stainless work.”

— Project Manager, Heavy Machinery OEM, Germany

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What billet inspection does Ever-Power perform on #100 SS material? +
All billet over 120 mm diameter receives ultrasonic testing per ASTM A388. In addition, every heat is verified with PMI (positive material identification) to confirm grade before machining begins. Mill certs are held on file and supplied with the shipment.
2. Is duplex or triplex #100 SS available? +
Yes. 100-2 and 100-3 (duplex and triplex) configurations are available on custom order. These are used when single-strand #100 approaches its power ceiling. Lead time: 20–28 working days for multi-strand custom sprockets.
3. Can you supply full drive kits for #100 chain systems? +
Yes. A typical kit includes two matched SS sprockets (driver and driven), a pre-cut length of 316 SS #100 roller chain, connecting links, and taper-lock bushes. Specify the drive ratio, shaft diameters, and centre distance and we’ll configure the complete assembly for you.
4. What is the working load limit for a 17T #100 SS sprocket? +
Working load is primarily a function of the chain rather than the sprocket in a properly designed drive. ANSI 100 chain has a minimum tensile strength of 88.5 kN; operating loads should be limited to approximately 1/4 to 1/7 of this value depending on application service factor. Contact us with your drive data for a full power rating calculation.
5. How long does a custom #100 SS sprocket order take? +
Standard configurations typically ship in 15–22 working days from drawing approval. Complex profiles (step-hub, lightening holes, multi-strand) add 5–8 days. Rush production is available for critical maintenance situations — surcharges apply; contact us for availability.
