#35 Stainless Steel Sprocket | Proven Results on Real Production Lines

ANSI 35 stainless steel sprocket in 304 or 316 SS — backed by documented results from dairy, packaging, and marine customers who replaced Browning, Tsubaki, and Renold carbon-steel units and measured the difference. Zero corrosion. Extended intervals. Lower total spend.

Description

Hangzhou Ever-Power Sprocket Co., Ltd.

We could tell you these sprockets are excellent. Instead, let’s start with what three production engineers reported after their first year of use.

Results Reported by Customers in the First Year

0
Unplanned Stoppages

“Dairy conveyor ran 14 months straight after switching to 316 SS. Previously we had at least two corrosion-related stops per quarter.”

— Plant Engineer, Dairy Processing, New Zealand

3×
Longer Service Life

“We used to replace our #35 sprockets every 4 months. The SS units from Ever-Power are still in service at 13 months with no measurable tooth wear.”

— Maintenance Lead, Packaging Line, Canada

1st
Time Passing QC Incoming

“The MTR and CMM report that came with the shipment were the first time our incoming QC team approved a sprocket order without any additional verification. Everything checked out.”

— QC Manager, Pharma OEM, UK

What Makes These Results Possible

Consistent field results come from consistent manufacturing — and that starts well before the machining stage. Every #35 SS sprocket we produce begins with grade-verified bar stock (PMI-checked on delivery), machined on gear-hobbing equipment calibrated quarterly to laser ball-bar standards, and finished to Ra ≤ 1.6 µm on tooth contact faces. The bore is cut to H7 tolerance as standard — the same class used by tier-one OEM suppliers — so there is no fretting on the shaft, no movement under load, and no micro-cracking at the bore-shaft interface that causes hidden fatigue damage. These are not premium add-ons. They are how we make every sprocket.

The Grade Matters — Here Is How to Choose

Both 304 and 316 SS outperform carbon steel in corrosive environments, but the right choice depends on your specific cleaning protocol and process chemistry. Grade 304 handles alkali detergents, steam, and most organic acids well — and it costs less. Grade 316 adds molybdenum to resist chloride attack, making it the correct choice for any application using hypochlorite sanitizers, for seafood or meat processing where brine and blood acids are present, or for outdoor/marine installations. When in doubt, specify 316 — the cost difference between grades is much smaller than the cost of a premature replacement cycle.

Parts We Supply Alongside the Sprocket

ANSI 35 drive system stainless parts

The customers who see the best long-term results are the ones who build the entire drive in stainless — not just the sprocket. Mixing SS sprockets with carbon steel chain in a wet environment risks galvanic corrosion at the chain link contact. We supply matched stainless steel sprocket drive components:

  • ANSI 35 SS Roller Chain — 304 and 316 grades, 10 ft and 25 ft lengths
  • SS Master Links — spring-clip and cottered-pin types, matched grade
  • Idler Sprockets — plain-bore and bearing-mounted for tensioning duties
  • Taper-Lock Bush Sets — for rapid sprocket changeout on maintenance cycles
  • NSF H1 Food-Grade Lubricant — PTFE dry-film spray compatible with SS chain

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long should an #35 SS sprocket last in a daily washdown environment? +
In typical food-industry washdown with alkali or chlorine sanitizers, customers report 3–5× longer service life compared to carbon steel equivalents. Many run 18–24 months before seeing measurable tooth wear — versus 3–6 months for carbon steel in the same application.
2. Can I get references from existing customers? +
We can connect interested buyers with willing reference customers in similar industries on request. Contact [email protected] with a brief description of your application and we will introduce you to a relevant existing customer where they agree to it.
3. What is passivation and does it cost extra? +
Passivation is a citric acid treatment (ASTM A967) that removes surface free-iron contamination and maximises the protective oxide layer. It costs nothing extra on food and pharmaceutical orders — note it on your PO or in your email and it is included. It is the correct treatment to prevent the “tea staining” rust spots that occasionally appear on new stainless after contact with iron tooling or fixtures.
4. Do you offer volume pricing? +
Yes. Volume pricing brackets apply at 10, 50, and 100+ units per configuration. Annual blanket-order arrangements with scheduled call-offs are also available for customers with predictable ongoing requirements — these typically achieve the best per-unit pricing and guaranteed capacity allocation.
5. What if the sprocket doesn’t match my application on arrival? +
If the delivered part does not match the specification we confirmed in writing, we replace or credit it — no complex returns process. We recommend all new customers send us their current OEM part number or a drawing before placing the first order so we can confirm the match before production begins.
